Tamang Heritage around Langtang area trek, a fascinating walking journey with Sherpa Nomads, leading you to awesome scenic mid hills villages inhabited by Tamang and Hyalmo, Bhotias tribes, a friendly people offering warm hospitality in the comfort of nice Home Stay and cozy lodges on route Tamang Heritage Trail trek. 

Sherpa Nomads Tamang Heritage trekking starts with an overland and interesting drive beyond Kathmandu valley to reach the scenic and mid hills villages of Dhunche and Syabrubesi, located on the route to the Kathmandu / Tibet border and many other popular trekking trails around Ganesh and Langtang area, with a great vista of mountains including the majestic Mt. Ganesh & Langtang Himal that dominates Langtang region.

Syabrubesi where our trek begins located by the Bhote Kosi or Upper Trisuli River, beginning the trek with a slow and gradual uphill passing several nice villages, and then a steep haul towards Gatlang village located on the base of Ganesh and Langtang Himal, a beautiful village surrounded with snow-capped mountains and green forest of rhododendron and firs. 

The next morning after breakfast a few hours' walks towards the hot spring at Tatopani 2,067 m high where you can feel the cool alpine temperature around this alpine climatic zone, here visit the hot spring and enjoy the warm bathing and dip, a cure for many diseases, from here heading towards near the Tiber border of Kyarong at Thuman 2,400 m through the village of Nagthali, where you can observe the culture, Buddhist religion, custom with the traditional life of the Tamang ethnic tribe similar to Tibetans across the border which is a mere distance away.

From here head to another nice Briddim village at the height of 2,345 m located by the river gorge enjoy and interact with the locals and its old custom, after a great time here in the least visited area by other trekkers, walk leads uphill into woodlands offering an awesome panorama of Ganesh Himal (7,405 m) Langtang Lirung (7,234 m)  Ghengu Liru(Langtang II 6571m / 21,560ft),  to the east the upper meadows of the Langtang end in a massive mountain wall, forming the frontier with Tibet.

From here our next adventure leads towards Sing Gompa on route Dhunche and Holy Gosainkund / Lake, with an overnight at Upper Syabrubesi a nice Tamang village, and then walk uphill with awesome scenery into lush rhododendron and pine forested area to reach Sing Gompa another wonderful spot with a view and small cheese factory, next morning concluding this awesome journey at Dhunche town, and then a scenic drive back to Kathmandu city, on completing a wonderful and interesting trek around Tamang Heritage Trail with great service of Sherpa Nomads and its friendly guides and porters.

On reaching Kathmandu international airport, received by Sherpa Nomads staff and transfer to respective hotel in the hub of Kathmandu, and then briefing / orientation program regarding Kathmandu, Tamang Heritage Trail around Langtang trek.

Morning after breakfast our city tour guide will take you on a half day tour at places of interest around interesting old temples, monasteries and palaces, Kathmandu is full of World Heritage Sites, afternoon free and preparation for the trek to Tamang Heritage Trail.

Starting this wonderful journey driving towards North West of Kathmandu passing interesting villages and towns with fabulous scenery of hills, farm terraces and snow capped peaks after the warm area reaching to cooler region at Langtang National Park entrance in Dhunche 1950 meters, the one and the only major town of Rasuwa district and Langtang area, inhabited mostly of Tamang ethnic tribes throughout the area of this trekking. From here downhill for two hours with overnight at Syabrubesi, the door to Langtang, Ganesh and into Tamang Heritage Trail and as well to the Tibet border from this village.

From Syabrubesi, starting the first day walk of this trip on the gentle winding uphill trail walking on the main motor road for short time and avoiding the main road on the old trekking trail leading to Goljung village, with super views of Ganesh and Langtang Himal, after Goljung village a nice walk with short ups and down path to a large spread out Tamang village at Gatlang for overnight atop in of its few fine and cozy Home Stay cottage and huts. Gatlang village with an old monastery where visitors are welcomed with strong smile and Khada silk scarf of Buddhist religion, culture, afternoon visit the local monastery and make friends with the villagers.

After a nice time and hospitality in Gatlang morning walk leads to a short descend close to the newly built Chilime Hydropower project at River Chilime. From here walk leads to cross a suspension bridge over Chilime River which flows from Tibet, and with an uphill for few hours till Tatopani village is reached for an overnight stop, Tatopani meaning Hot Water, this village with natural hot spring nearby. Afternoon free at leisure and dip in the hot spring pool which is refreshing and cure many diseases.

The morning after a refreshing time in Tatopani and with spectacular views of Ganesh Himal, start the morning walk with a climb into the dense forest of rhododendron, pines, magnolia, and oaks tree lines to reach Nagthali Danda, a fantastic viewpoint at Nagthali Danda over looking panorama of Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal and an array of adjoin peaks, after a great time with the views heading downhill to our next overnight stop at Thuman village another nice village with farm life and old culture.

From Thuman village, morning walk begins with a descend to river Trisuli, looking over the trail to Tibet in the far distance, after crossing a river with a long downhill to our overnight stop at Briddim. This is another pretty farm village with old monastery, afternoon visit this old monastery treasures many historical artifacts along with the tall statue of Sakyamuni Buddha and of Guru Ringboche “Padmasamba” with time to explore the village of Briddim.

After Briddim village with great interesting time, walk from here leads to downhill back to Trisuli River after passing Khanjim village, close to Syabrubesi village, starting with 2-3 hours climb and then on the good trail passing farm fields and terraces, walk continues arriving at Riverside lodge located on the junction to Upper or Thulo Syabru and trail to Langtang valley joins, our overnight stop will be in the middle of the forest at Lama Hotel.

From Lama Hotel our journey leads to alternative route towards Upper Syabru also called as Thulo Syabru, morning walk a short downhill to Riverside and Bamboo area with small lodge, teahouses in the middles of rhododendron, oaks and bamboo forests, after short rest here walk continues leading uphill to the ridge of Upper Syabru passing few farm lands and a big landslide section and then to Thulo Syabru village where the traditional Tamang houses are linked together like a long locomotive with beautiful carved windows and doors, this village with 6-8 good lodges and a monastery above the village.

After this nice village walk leads to more climb through enchanting dense forest of lovely rhododendron, oaks and pine trees with views of Langtang and Ganesh Himal and as far towards west peaks of Manaslu and Annapurna Himalaya, although a steep climb but interesting walking into this beautiful forest where more than 10 varieties of rhododendron species exists around this thick woodlands, passing summer pasture and shades of cattle herders and then on the pleasant winding trail to Singh Gomba / Chandanbari village with a cheese factory and an old monastery at the top of the village.

From Shing Gompa, after having a nice rest and amazing views today the last walk of this beautiful journey, morning trek leads on the long downhill slope through enchanting forest full of rhododendron and pine trees passing several Sheppard’s shelter and grazing and pasture land reaching at the base of the long hill of Shing village, stopping here for a while and then reaching the main motor road for a while and with short up to Dhunche town for last overnight stop in this high hills of Langtang area.

After remarkable and awesome trekking, the morning after breakfast a nice interesting drive following the downhill winding road to Kathmandu passing many farm villages and towns of Kalikathan, Trisuli Bazaar, and the back to hustle, the bustle of the city life of Kathmandu and then check into respective hotels.

On your last day in Kathmandu as per your international flight time, our Sherpa Nomads staff will transfer you to the airport for the flight homeward bound after a remarkable lifetime experience in the central Himalaya around Langtang with Tamang Heritage Trail trek with excellent service of Sherpa Nomads.
