Yala Peak & Langtang Valley Trek and climb, a fascinating adventure with Sherpa Nomads, leading you to awesome scenic mid hills villages inhabited by Tamang and Hyalmo, Bhotias tribes, a friendly people offering warm hospitality in the comfort of nice and cozy lodges and camping on route Langtang Valley and beyond upper valley for the classic adventurous climb of Yala Peak at 5,732 meters high offering awesome panorama of Ganesh Himal (7,405 m) Langtang Lirung (7,234 m)  Ghengu Liru(Langtang II 6571m / 21,560ft), Kimshun (6,745m/22,137ft) and Shalbachum(6,918m / 22,699ft) to the south, the Chimsedang Lekh forms a ridge of peaks which includes Naya-Kanga (5,846m) and Gangchempo, Tilman's beautiful Fluted Peak. Beyond it extends to the Jugal Himal, terminating in Dorje Lakpa (6,980m/22,929ft). To the east the upper meadows of the Langtang end in a massive mountain wall, forming the frontier with Tibet.

Sherpa Nomads Yala Peak & Langtang Valley Trek and climb around Langtang Valley, starting with an overland and interesting drive beyond Kathmandu valley to reach a scenic and mid hills village of Dhunche and Syabrubesi, located on the route to the Kathmandu / Tibet border and many other popular trekking trails around Ganesh and Langtang area, with a great vista of mountains including the majestic Mt. Ganesh & Langtang Himal that dominates Langtang region.

Syabrubesi where our trek begins located by the Bhote Kosi or Upper Trisuli River, beginning the trek with a slow and gradual uphill passing several nice villages, and then a steep haul towards Langtang valley reaching Langtang village located at the base of Langtang Lirung, a beautiful village surrounded with snow-capped mountains and green forest of rhododendron and firs.

The next morning after breakfast a few hour's walk to Kyanjin Gompa, as the river gorge valley opens into the wide valley to reach Kyanjin, one of this trip highlights, the walk leads uphill leaving the woodlands for the alpine climate.

Kyanjin at the height of 3,749 m offering From here our next adventure leads towards upper Langtang, where our real adventure begins after a pleasant good walk and rest at Kyanjin, our main highlight of this adventure climb of Yala peak at 5, 732 meters high, highest point of this adventure. 

The climb is undertaken after a good rest and practice with acclimatization, our expert guide will fix ropes and make the route accessible where possible, the climb to the summit is straightforward; however, there are few technical sections where the use of fixed ropes and proper gear is required.

 After a climb to the summit top of Yala Peak feeling high and on top of the world with overwhelming sceneries, after a great adventure return journey leads back to Lama Hotel and then on the alternative route towards Upper or Thulo Syabru village and uphill to Shing Gompa on tour Gosainkund, walk leads through an enchanting forest of pines and rhododendron trees, and with a final descend to Dhunche town for the drive back to Kathmandu, on completing a grand super Yala Peak & Langtang Valley Trek and climb with great service of Sherpa Nomads and its friendly guides and porters.

Daily super views of Manaslu, Ganesh, Langtang & Jugal Himal range of mountains with amazing landscapes, a country walk visiting traditional mid hills villages, old culture, and customs, friendly locals, warm hospitality, an enchanting alpine forest of rhododendron, oaks, birch and pine trees, striking sunrise over the chain of the Himalayan mountain range, in the heart of Langtang Himalaya, an adventurous climb of Yala Peak.

Starting this wonderful journey driving towards North West of Kathmandu passing interesting villages and towns with fabulous scenery of hills, farm terraces, and snow-capped peaks after the warm area reaching the cooler region at Langtang National Park entrance in Dhunche 1950 meters, the one and the only major town of Rasuwa district and Langtang area, inhabited mostly of Tamang ethnic tribes throughout the area of this trekking. From here downhill for two hours with overnight at Syabrubesi, the door to Langtang, Ganesh, and into Tamang Heritage Trail and as well to the Tibet border from this village.

On reaching Kathmandu international airport, received by Sherpa Nomads staff and transfer to respective hotel in the hub of Kathmandu, and then briefing/orientation program regarding Kathmandu, Naya Kanga / Ganja-La Chuli Trek and climb.

Morning after breakfast our city tour guide will take you on a half-day tour at places of interest around interesting old temples, monasteries, and palaces, Kathmandu is full of World Heritage Sites, and the afternoon is free and preparation for Naya Kanga / Ganja-La Chuli Trek and climb.

The first-day walk of this adventure leads to crossing a bridge over Langtang Khola (river) later joins the great Trisuli River, and then on the uphill walking through scattered farm villages and terraces with views of surrounding landscapes and into a cool shade of forest reaching near a place with small lodges and tea house at Riverside where the trail from Upper or Thulo Syabru meets, after a rest or lunch break trek continues with a climb through beautiful forests of rhododendron, pines, bamboo tree lines, Langtang area is famous for rare and elusive Red Panda and other wildlife’s, after a good day’s walk reaching Lama Hotel located in between forest surrounding and by the Langtang Khola with 5-6 simple lodges.

The morning walk heads higher up through the river gorge in the middle of enchanting woodlands of tall trees pines, and rhododendron and follows the river upstream passing a few houses and cattle herder's shelters and then to a cooler place at Ghoretabela for a lunch break in the beautiful forest surrounding with few lodges around. From here another 2-3 hours of a good walk and leaving the tree lines behind reaching Langtang village for an overnight stop, the last village before Kyanjin. Here explore this interesting village of Tamang and Bhotias people of Tibetan origin with similar lifestyles of Tibet religion and culture.

After a wonderful stop in this last village, while other up are temporary settlements of yak herders and a lodge to serve the trekkers, moving on the winding up the trail and then the gorge opens to a wide beautiful valley with awesome views of snow-capped peaks that line this Langtang valley, walking on encountering few prayer or mani walls and then reaching our first destination of this trip at Kyanjin Gomba for two nights in this lovely valley surrounded by many peaks around with Langtang Lirung glacier just close by from the lodges and a cheese processing factory established some 35 years ago with help of Swiss assistance.

A perfect spot for a rest day to acclimatize at this high altitude before our next higher journey to Gosainkund and beyond, there are many places for a short hike and climb like the hilltop of Tsego and Kyanjin ri at over 4,000 meters top for the better panorama of surrounding mountains. From a viewpoint hill overlooking Langtang Himal, beyond which lies Tibet. The major peaks include Ghengu Liru (Langtang II 6571m / 21,560ft), Langtang Lirung (7,425m / 23,765ft) Kimshun (6,745m / 22,137ft), and Shalbachum (6,918m / 22,699ft) to the south, the Chimsedang Lekh forms a ridge of peaks which includes Naya-Kanga 5,846m and Gangchempo, Tilman's beautiful Fluted Peak. Beyond it continues to the Jugal Himal, ending with Dorje Lakpa (6,980m / 22,929ft), extending further east on the upper meadows of the Langtang range ends in a huge and massive mountain wall, forming the border with Tibet.

After a good rest day at Kyanjin, the morning walk leads to a gradual walk for the first hour towards the eastern valley near the old airstrip, from here our route climbs steeply up to the moraines north-east from Chhongdu to Tharche before traversing towards Yala, pitch the high camp and as well the base camp in the meadows at the head of the Yala Chhu before the Yala Jhang Glacier.

Early morning climb of Yala Peak which is not a technical climb can be done with the help of a ski pole, depending upon the snow conditions. On snow and ice, crampons are required for safety purposes, after a climb to the summit great views of the surrounding peaks and valleys can be seen from the top. The return walks back to Kyanjin for an overnight stop.

After a wonderful time at the Base Camp and at the high summit of Yala in the absolute wilderness, return back on the same trail to Langtang Village.

Morning catching the last view of this wonderful surrounding and high snow-capped mountains in amazing Langtang valley, then heading downhill for another adventure on route Kathmandu, walk leads on the same route till Lama Hotel after a long descend with few short ups in between the walks.

From Lama Hotel our journey continues with nice views along the walk on the downhill path to a place called Bamboo with few teahouses and lodges, after a pleasant morning walk, from here walk through farm terraces of millets, corn, and wheat’s depending upon the time of the seasons, on leaving the farm area the path leads uphill on the old landslide sections, the on the winding uphill path to Upper or Thulo Syabru for an overnight stop in of the good lodge around this nice interesting village, where the houses are lined up in a row like a locomotive, this village has an old monastery perched higher on the ridge.

After Thulo or upper Syabru, the morning walk leads to a steep climb through an enchanting and beautiful forest of rhododendron, pines, and hemlocks trees with fantastic views of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu mountains towards the northwest, and of Langtang Lirung, after hours of steep up reaching to a near level path with views of Dhunche town down below, slowly the walk leads on the gentle uphill then on the winding gradual path all the way to Shing Gompa also known as Chandanbari for an overnight stop. This small settlement with about ten lodges and a small cheese processing factory is located high on route between the holy Gosainkund and Dhunche, on the top of the lodges stands an old monastery.

The last day walk of this wonderful trip ends today, starting this morning's walk with a long descend through beautiful rhododendron and pine forest along the walk with fabulous views of surrounding landscapes and mountains, the walk carries on a downhill for about three hours, then reaches the bottom nearby the river after crossing the bridge, reaching the motorable road after being in the trekking trail for a week, the good road winds up for an hour all the way to the large town at Dhunche for overnight stop, the last day in the mid hills of high Langtang Himalaya.

The morning after breakfast, an interesting drive back to Kathmandu the journey continues with great views and scenery of the Himalayan landscapes, rolling hills, and valleys, then passing through numerous villages and towns on the downhill drive to Kathmandu. After an interesting journey of more than six hours reaching Kathmandu, after a great memorable time up in the mountains transfers to respective hotels.

On your last day in Kathmandu as per your international flight time, our Sherpa Nomads staff will transfer you to the airport for the flight homeward bound after a remarkable lifetime experience climb of Yala Peak around Langtang valley with excellent service of Sherpa Nomads.
