Naya Kanga / Ganja-La Chuli Trek and climb, a fascinating adventure with Sherpa Nomads, leading you to awesome scenic mid hills villages inhabited by Tamang and Hyalmo, Bhotias tribes, a friendly people offering with warm hospitality in the comfort of nice and cozy lodges and camping on route Langtang Valley to Helambu via Ganja-La after the adventurous climb of Naya Kanga.

Sherpa Nomads Naya Kanga / Ganja-La Chuli Trek and climb around Langtang Valley, starting with an overland and interesting drive beyond Kathmandu valley to reach a scenic and mid hills village of Dhunche and Syabrubesi, located on the route to Kathmandu / Tibet border and many other popular trekking trail around Ganesh and Langtang area, with great vista of mountains including the majestic Mt. Ganesh & Langtang Himal that dominates Langtang region.

Syabrubesi where our trek begins located by the Bhote Kosi or Upper Trisuli River, beginning the trek with slow and gradual uphill passing several nice villages, and then a steep haul towards Langtang valley reaching at Langtang village located on the base of Langtang Lirung, a beautiful village surrounded with snow capped mountains and green forest of rhododendron and firs.

Next morning after breakfast a few hours walk to Kyanjin Gompa, as the river gorge valley opens into wide valley to reach at Kyanjin, one of this trip highlight, walk leads uphill leaving the woodlands for alpine climate.

Kyanjin at the height of 3,749 m offering awesome panorama of Ganesh Himal (7,405 m) Langtang Lirung (7,234 m)  Ghengu Liru(Langtang II 6571m / 21,560ft), Kimshun (6,745m/22,137ft) and Shalbachum(6,918m / 22,699ft) to the south, the Chimsedang Lekh forms a ridge of peaks which includes Naya-Kanga (5,846m) and Gangchempo, Tilman's beautiful Fluted Peak. 
Beyond it extends to the Jugal Himal, terminating in Dorje Lakpa (6,980m/22,929ft). To the east the upper meadows of the Langtang end in a massive mountain wall, forming the frontier with Tibet.

From here our next adventure leads towards Naya Kanga peak also known as Ganjala peak at 5,846 meters high, where our real adventure begins after a pleasant good walk to Langtang valley, in snow condition crossing or traverse over Ganja-la at 5, 122 meters, but first our main highlight of this adventure climb of Naya Kanga peak also known as Ganja la Chuli at 5,846 meters high,    highest point of this adventure could be quite arduous. 

The climb is undertaken after a good rest and practice with acclimatization, our expert guide will fix ropes and make the route accessible where possible, the climb to the summit is straightforward; however there are few technical sections where use of fix ropes and proper gear is required.

 After a climb to the summit top of Naya Kanga / Gnaja-la chuli feeling high and on top of the world with overwhelming sceneries, our next adventure leads to travarse over Ganja-La with great support of Sherpa Nomads expert guides then heading towards total wilderness and summer pasture area till a charming Helambu village is reached, here visit the nice village enrich with Buddhist culture and religion.

After Helambu heading downhill to warmer area at Melamche Pul and bazaar for the drive back to Kathmandu, on completing a grand super Naya Kanga / Ganja-La Chuli Trek and climb around Langtang Valley and Helambu with great service of Sherpa Nomads and its friendly guides and porters.

Your last day in Kathmandu as per your international flight time, our Sherpa Nomads staff will transfer you to airport for the flight homeward bound after a remarkable life time experience in the central Himalaya trek and climb of Naya Kanga / Ganja-La Chuli around Langtang Valley with Helambu.

After a wonderful time in the high mountains, valley crossing Ganja-la pass, finally concluding this wonderful adventure with a drive to Kathmandu, morning walk begins with an easy descend through warmer area as the trail leads to lower area through flat land at Kakani. The trail from here continues with a downhill walk till it reaches Dubachaur and further descending to reach a suspension bridge over Melamchi Khola, on arrival at Melamchipul where this trek cones to an end, from here an interesting drive of five hours to reach Kathmandu, on reaching Kathmandu transfer back to respective hotels after a wonderful time in the high hills of Himalaya.

Slowly and gently as this adventure comes to an end losing altitude day by day from here onwards on the downhill and flat land walking though beautiful forests and enjoying with a visit in these villages of Helembu area, our walk continues through many chortens and summer meadows to reach Gangyul a small village, then following the path with wonderful views of green rolling hills and natural vegetation and reaching at Shermathang for overnight stop, this is another pretty Hyalmo village of Helambu area, here with time to visit another old monastery.

After being in complete wilderness, morning walk after leaving Dukpu leads to a charming villages of Helambu at Tarke Gyang, walk first starts with a gentle downhill and then up to a small pass at an altitude of 4,100 m /13,451 ft a vantage spot for outstanding, striking views of Ganesh, Langtang and Jugal Himal mountain range including Mt. Everest can be seen in the far east direction in fine clear weather conditions, from here on following the path with downhill walk through forest of pines and rhododendron trees, then reaching at Helambu’s main and first village for overnight stop at Tarke Gyang with enough time in the afternoon to visit one of the oldest Buddhist monastery of this area.

Morning walk in another Langtang region, from here onwards considered as Helambu area, this places are summer grazing places of cattle herders from Helambu villages, soon after breakfast day start with a descend following the main ridge line, quite a moderate walking distance today with mixture of few ups and downs and then reaching a small settlement for overnight camp at Dukpu.

Starting early before the break of dawn and as the weather permits, walk and climb towards Ganja La pass which is quite challenging climb to cross as this pass is covered with snow most of the season and year round, the sun hardly gets through around this hidden place blocked by Nayakanga peak. This area is quite challenging and adventurous, very few trekkers use this route and beyond after the climb and long climb on the icy path passing several small ponds to reach the ridge top of Gnaja la pass, after a hard struggle to the top offering awesome views of surrounding high snow capped mountains and deep valleys, enjoining the fantastic scenery, then the walk leads to a long downhill to reach our overnight camp at a small place of Keldang Kharka.

The route of ascent to Naya Kanga follows the North East Ridge, which is reached by traversing the glacier shelf and then climbing an easy angled couloir to a col on the ridge. Above this col the ridge steepens normally a rope is fixed to safeguard this section of the route. There are two further steep sections beside the first steep ones which may require fixing, the climbs from here leads to a level area below the summit ridge. The summit ridge is quite broad, and it is exposed and corniced and the party will be roped together. The round trip from High Camp to the summit can take about 6-8 hours. After the magnificent time on the summit with stunning view of the nearby array of snow capped, the long careful descent will bring us to the camp, depending upon the time as per the schedule and in good physical condition we will cover the distance as far as to Branchen Kharka, to make it more easier for the next day walk.

A leisure day to scout the area for the climb, our guide and leader will scout and make possible route for the next morning climb.

Walk this morning leads a little further towards Ganja-la to establish a high camp at 5,100m, below the North East Face, from the base camp continue on the trail to Ganja-La to gain the upper cwm filled by a glacier beneath the North-East Face by climbing steeply up moraine to establish the high camp.

Morning walk along with the awesome views of surrounding mountains, then leaving Kyanjin Gompa to begin an adventurous trip, after an hour walk cross the Langtang River and then an uphill steep climb through rhododendron forests to reach an icy path and finally to the flat ground at Ganja La Phedi (bottom) for overnight camping around the summer pasture of the local Yak herders. Afternoon free to rest and preparation for the next big day climb of Naya Kanga and traverse towards Helambu area via Ganja la pass.

A perfect spot for rest day to acclimatize at this high altitude before our next higher journey to Gosainkund and beyond, here many places for short hike and climb like to the hill top of Tsego and Kyanjin ri at over 4,000 meters top for better panorama of surrounding mountains. From view point hill overlooking at Langtang Himal, beyond which lies Tibet. The major peaks include Ghengu Liru (Langtang II 6571m / 21,560ft), Langtang Lirung (7,425m / 23,765ft) Kimshun (6,745m / 22,137ft) and Shalbachum (6,918m / 22,699ft) to the south, the Chimsedang Lekh forms a ridge of peaks which includes Naya-Kanga 5,846m and Gangchempo, Tilman's beautiful Fluted Peak. Beyond it continues to the Jugal Himal, ending with Dorje Lakpa (6,980m / 22,929ft), extending further east on the upper meadows of the Langtang range ends in a huge and massive mountain wall, forming the border with Tibet.

After a wonderful stop in this last village, while other up are temporary settlement of yak herders and lodge to serve the trekkers, moving on the winding up trail and then the gorge opens to a wide beautiful valley with awesome views of snow capped peaks that lines this Langtang valley, walking on encountering few prayer or mani walls and then reaching our first destination of this trip at Kyanjin Gomba for two nights in this lovely valley surrounded by many peaks around with Langtang Lirung glacier just close by from the lodges and a cheese processing factory established some 35 years ago with help of Swiss assistance.

Morning walk heads higher up through the river gorge in the middle of enchanting woodlands of tall trees of pines, rhododendron and following the river upstream passing few houses and cattle herders shelters and then to more cooler place at Ghoretabela for lunch break in beautiful forest surrounding with few lodges around. From here another 2-3 hours of good walk and the leaving the tree lines behind reaching at Langtang village for overnight stop, the last village before Kyanjin. Here explore this interesting village of Tamang and Bhotias people of Tibetan origin with similar life style of Tibet religion and culture.

The first day walk of this adventure leads to cross a bridge over Langtang Khola (river) later joins the great Trisuli River, and then on the uphill walking through scattered farm villages and terraces with views of surrounding landscapes and into a cool shade of forest reaching near a place with small lodges and tea house at Riverside where the trail from Upper or Thulo Syabru meets, after a rest or lunch break trek continues with a climb through beautiful forests of rhododendron, pines, bamboo tree lines, Langtang area is famous for rare and elusive Red Panda and other wildlife’s, after a good day’s walk reaching at Lama Hotel located in between forest surrounding and by the Langtang Khola with 5-6 simple lodges.

Starting this wonderful journey driving towards North West of Kathmandu passing interesting villages and towns with fabulous scenery of hills, farm terraces and snow capped peaks after the warm area reaching to cooler region at Langtang National Park entrance in Dhunche 1950 meters, the one and the only major town of Rasuwa district and Langtang area, inhabited mostly of Tamang ethnic tribes throughout the area of this trekking. From here downhill for two hours with overnight at Syabrubesi, the door to Langtang, Ganesh and into Tamang Heritage Trail and as well to the Tibet border from this village.

Morning after breakfast our city tour guide will take you on a half day tour at places of interest around interesting old temples, monasteries and palaces, Kathmandu is full of World Heritage Sites, afternoon free and preparation for Naya Kanga / Ganja-La Chuli Trek and climb.
